One Room Challenge {W6}: Fireplace and Finished!

I finished! I finished! I finished! I can hardly believe it but I made it to the finish line with a DONE room! Y’all there were definitely some moments when I didn’t think the room would come together. BUT IT DID!  💃💃💃

Can you tell I’m excited? I really had no idea what I wanted this room to look like when I started. Leading up to the challenge I kept texting some of my people asking for ideas... but they had nothing also. Before I get too ahead of myself, here are the first 5 weeks: week 1 :: week 2 :: week 3 :: week 4 ::  week 5
I feel like I have learned a lot about redoing rooms since starting these One Room Challenges.  If you are tired of how your house looks just start with ONE room.  Then pick one month to dedicate some time to the room, and go for it!  Paint, target clearance, and Facebook marketplace can make your dreams come true! 🤣 Seriously y’all! Also, get rid of things you don’t love... I made around $500 selling stuff that was stored in THIS ROOM!

I can’t believe I ever let some someone sleep in here. Thankfully nothing was living under all that junk. 

One of the last missing pieces I had to do this week was finishing the fireplace. I really wanted to do something different than our upstairs fire place:



The problem was that I love the wood look... it just makes it look authentic and cozy!

I used this peel and stick tile from Amazon for the back of the fireplace.  Tall Tan Man cut me some firewood and that was it!  

One last thing I did in the room was add some hooks for towels/purses/jackets... or scarves!  

If you come stay with us, please don't leave a wet towel on the floor.  I think the worst smell in the world is musty towels.  😂  This might sound crazy but towels go in the trash once they smell bad in this house!  Above the hooks I added a US map.  I'm going to leave a metallic pen for people to sign the map when they come see us.  Come on Alaska, come see us!
