Hello! Two donuts posts in one month...who am I? Oh yeah, someone that
Baked Cinnamon Donuts:
Ingredients
Pillsbury Home-style Biscuits
3/4 Cup Sugar
3/4 Tsp Cinnamon
6 TBSP Melted Butter
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Punch a whole in the middle of the biscuits with somethin' circular. {I used our garlic press}
2. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar in a medium size bowl.
3. Drop the dough in the bowl of butter, roll it in the cinnamon sugar mixture, and place on a baking sheet.
3. Bake the donuts for 14-16 minutes.
I recommend you eat these warm and with coffee! They are divine if you dip them in coffee. Being honest I would not make these if you were not going to eat them right away. They started to taste a little too biscuit-like when they cooled {I love biscuits so I am still eating them...}.
Fried Cinnamon Donuts
Ingredients
Pillsbury Home-style Biscuits
3/4 Cup Sugar
3/4 Tsp Cinnamon
Oil
1. Begin to heat the oil in a large dutch oven to 350 degrees. You want about 1-2 inches of oil. Punch a whole in the middle of the biscuits with a circular object. {see picture above, I used our garlic press}
2. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar in a medium bowl.
3. Carefully drop dough in the oil. Allow dough to cook about for about 30 seconds on each side. You want them to be a nice golden brown.
4. Using a slotted spatula to remove the donut from the oil and place in the cinnamon sugar bowl. Move the donut all around until fully covered {The end of a spoon through the middle works well}.
5. Enjoy with coffee!
I fried the donut holes and they were my favorite part. Next time I might just make donut holes...
Someone on instagram asked which way turned out better and I couldn't pick. If you are wanting a real donut texture and taste then fry them bad boys.
If you are wanting more of a cake/scone/biscuit-like texture then bake them.
